The English Modern School’s Doha Campus library houses approx. 22,600 books for students to checkout. Of that total, 2,400 are in Arabic and 91 are in French.
During the summer of 2012, the library was enlarged to better meet the needs of students and staff. The library is divided into the following sections: Teacher Resources, Everybody Section, Fiction Section for Year 2-6, Fiction Section for Year 7-12, Non-Fiction Section, and a Reference Section. The books are also marked with the Fountas and Pinnell reading level, which is also used in their classrooms.
The primary and secondary students use a rotating schedule to visit the library for book checkout and library lessons. Currently we have 15 computers for students to use while they are in the library. Students may keep books for a two-week period with the option to renew for another two weeks when needed.
