At English Modern School Doha we embrace internationalism through acceptance of differences, values, and beliefs in our community. This is emulated through our Expected School Wide Learning results (ESLRs).

Curriculum

The high-quality physical education curriculum in place at EMS Doha looks to inspire all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It provides opportunities for students to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Central to the programme is the development of good practice, healthy living and all values encompassed by EMS ESLRs (Expected School wide Learning Results).

In the ECC – Physical Education is about things as basic as getting dressed and undressed or tying shoe laces. The manipulative skills of fastening buttons, zips, etc. are essential for the changing of clothes in readiness for the vigorous physical activity in which the children are about to participate.

The Primary years are all about reinforcement, activity, discovery and experience.

In Secondary levels the programme focuses on physical performance as well as an analytical understanding of performance of self and others.

Many students at EMS regularly compete in representative sport which helps to build character and reinforce important values, such as fairness, teamwork and respect.
